Simon Wyrsch is among the best young jazz clarinetists in the world, admired by the public as well as by journalists, who write great reviews. Still a teenager he worked professionally as a musician and gave concerts with different bands and groups as well as some shows in theaters. This will be followed by appearances at clubs and festivals worldwide, such as Avignon Jazz Festival, Kennedy Center Jazz Club and much more. Masterclasses attended by artists like Billy Taylor, Lewis Nash, Cedar Walton, Curtis Fuller, Kenny Drew jr., Eddie Daniels, Dave Liebman among others. He`s the recipient of a full scholarship by the Friedl-Wald-Foundation, was invited to the Betty Carter`s Jazzahead program and won 3rd place at the 11.International Jazz Soloist Competition in Monte Carlo. As as Buffet-Artist and Endorser for Vandoren he gives Clinics and Masterclasses about Jazz, Clarinet and Improvisation. He plays a modern jazz clarinet, with much passion and unparalleled virtuosity He`s also into film music, and has about 20 credits as a clarinetist/ contractor in a variety of projects like documentarys, tv-spots, animation- movies and motion pictures.
