The percussionist, singer, and composer Yamil Hernandez, was born and raised in Havana, Cuba. In 2002 he begins his professional life in music creating together with Jorge L. Robaina and Yuri?n Hern?ndez the band “Kaf? con Leche”. With this band he gives his first concerts in Havana and in the year 2003 his first tour in Spain. Within this tour he recorded his first album “D?jame Volar” with “Delicias Discogr?ficas” in Zaragoza. After that, for commercial reasons, “Kaf? con Leche” changes its name for “Karamba” establishing themselves successfully in and out of Cuba. With the band “Karamba” he has made important tours in Cuba, Mexico, France and Spain sharing the stage with stars like Ariel Rot, Los Van Van or Calle 13 giving his most popular concert at the “Vivamerica” Festival in Madrid in what was the tour to promote the band's third album, "De ida y vuelta", an album with great reviews and nominations for several major awards from the Cuban music industry.Besides his work with Karamba, Yamil Hernandez has been included in the recordings of some other musicians? albums, both as a recording member, and as a producer. For example the debut albums of the Nicaraguan singer Richard Loza, for “Fulanito de Tal” or “De Boleros Trio”.Now he also belongs to the bands “Black Jamming” and “Tinglao Fusion Band”. Black Jamming is a tribute band to the 80?s funk and rock music.Tinglao fusion band is a Spanish-Cuban Formation that attempts to combine the artistic concerns of a cast of renowned musicians with a refined musicality.As a band they have shared the stage with outstanding artists like Robben Ford, Esperanza Spalding, Bill Evans, The Earth Wind and Fire Experience, Christian Scott, Chris Dave, Jazzanova or Stanley Jordan among others.Right now they are immersed in the recording of their first album, in addition to continuing to present their new songs and arrangements in various stages.In 2013 they recorded their debut album "Por encontrar m?s luz". Now they are in the tour to promote this album that has taken them to different festivals as Klaipeda Castle Jazz(Lithuania), Jazztage G?rlitz (Germany) or Jazz Zaragoza (Spain).
